Weekly Beef Export Sales 09/18 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 425,500 pieces for 2025 were up 22 percent
from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases primarily for China (326,900 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 7,500 pieces and 29,700 pieces - late), Mexico (62,900 whole
cattle hides, including decreases of 4,000 pieces and 15,500 pieces -
late), Thailand (16,300 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 300
pieces), South Korea (11,100 whole cattle hides, including decreases of
600 pieces), and Italy (7,500 whole cattle hides, including 1,700 pieces -
late), were offset by reductions for India (1,600 pieces), Turkey (200
pieces), Japan (200 pieces), and Ethiopia (100 pieces). Total net sales
reductions of 2,900 calf skins were for Italy. In addition, total net
sales of 2,900 kip skins were for Italy. Exports of 400,000 whole cattle
hides were up 36 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the
prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (255,000
pieces, including 25,800 pieces - late), South Korea (49,200 pieces,
including 1,300 pieces - late), Mexico (47,900 pieces, including 11,300
pieces - late), Turkey (12,300 pieces, including 10,500 pieces - late),
and Brazil (11,500 pieces).
Net sales of 291,300 wet blues for 2025 primarily for Vietnam (174,100
unsplit, including decreases of 100 unsplit), China (52,400 unsplit),
Thailand (21,600 unsplit), Mexico (18,400 grain splits, including 12,800
grain splits - late), and Bangladesh (16,000 unsplit), were offset by
reductions for Hong Kong (800 unsplit). Net sales of 11,800 wet blues for
2026 reported for Thailand (12,000 unsplit), were offset by reductions for
Italy (200 unsplit). Net sales of 189,400 other excluding wet blues were
reported for China (121,000 pounds, including decrease of 17,800 pounds,
and 138,800 pounds - late), Turkey (67,000 pounds - late), and Thailand
(1,400 pounds - late). Exports of 140,600 wet blues were up 10 percent
from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to Vietnam (43,500 unsplit), Thailand (28,700
unsplit), Italy (26,700 unsplit, including 2,600 unsplit - late), Mexico
(12,000 grain splits, including 9,200 grain splits - late), and South
Korea (9,900 grain splits, including 4,100 grain splits - late). Exports
of 163,800 other excluding wet blues were to China (114,200 pounds -
late), Turkey (48,300 pounds - late), and Thailand (1,400 pounds - late).
Total net sales of 41,000 splits were for Taiwan. No exports of splits
were reported for the week.
Late Reporting: For 2025, net sales totaling 46,884 of pieces were
reported late for China (29,700 pieces), Mexico (15,474 pieces), and Italy
(1,710 pieces). Net sales of 207,174 other excluding wet blues were
reported late for China (138,814 pounds), Turkey (67,010 pounds), and
Thailand (1,350 pounds). Net sales of 17,260 wet blues were reported late
for Mexico (12,800 grain splits), South Korea (2,750 grain splits), and
Italy (1,710 unsplit). Exports of 51,141 whole cattle hides were reported
late to China (25,812 pieces), Mexico (11,274 pieces), Turkey (10,500
pieces), India (2,277 pieces), and South Korea (1,278 pieces). Exports of
163,809 other excluding wet blues were reported late to China (114,174
pounds), Turkey (48,285 pounds), and Thailand (1,350 pounds). Exports of
15,865 wet blues were reported late to Mexico (9,200 grain splits), South
Korea (4,100 grain splits), and Italy (2,565 unsplit).
Beef: Net sales of 15,800 MT for 2025 were up 31 percent from the previous
week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for
South Korea (8,000 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), Mexico (1,700 MT,
including decreases of 300 MT), Indonesia (1,600 MT, including 200 MT -
late), Canada (1,200 MT), and Taiwan (1,000 MT), were offset by reductions
for the United Kingdom (100 MT). Net sales of 400 MT for 2026 were for
Japan. Exports of 13,200 MT were up 52 percent from the previous week and
23 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily
to Japan (4,000 MT), South Korea (3,200 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), Taiwan
(1,100 MT), and Hong Kong (1,000 MT).
Late Reporting: For 2025, net sales totaling 352 MT of beef were reported
late for Indonesia (218 MT) and the Philippines (134 MT). Exports of 352

Pork: Net sales of 22,000 MT for 2025 were up 27 percent from the previous
week, but down 14 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were
primarily for Japan (6,600 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Mexico
(6,200 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), China (3,000 MT), Colombia
(1,400 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), and Canada (1,300 MT, including
decreases of 300 MT). Exports of 29,400 MT were up 26 percent from the
previous week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to Mexico (14,500 MT), Japan (4,100 MT), China
(2,800 MT), South Korea (1,900 MT), and Canada (1,700 MT).
