DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start Friday morning following
Thursday's light to moderate business. Southern live deals were marked at
$228, $3 lower than last week's weighted averages. Northern dressed sales
had a range of $350 to $ 355, mostly $351, $8 below last week's weighted
average, basis Nebraska. It's looking like the bulk of business is
essentially completed for the week, but a little cleanup here and there is
not out of the question. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are
around $228 to $230 in the South, and $351-plus in the North. So far, no
bids have been renewed. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower with light
to moderate box movement.
NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-402-461-3561. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized by
state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly
summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported
to DTN page and will be left up for the entire week for reference
purposes.
