DTN COMMENTS: Formula totals for last week: KS 73,836(+4,043), NE 43,602
(-12,611), TX 69,903(+4,754). Total trade volume for last week: KS 78,722
(+5,975), NE 65,458(-14,760), TX 72,159(-1,883). New showlists appear to be
mixed, higher in Texas, but lower in Kansas and Nebraska/Colorado. Bids and
asking prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will
likely be delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (Choice 369.99 -0.74, Select 354.97 +0.73),
with very light box movement (22.85 lds of choice cuts, 5.65 lds of select
cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 8.68 lds of ground). Cattle futures at midday are
sharply higher on both live and feeder cattle contracts.
